I didn't believe it would happen, but as forecast, we were hit with a blizzard last Tuesday. I stayed inside and observed the beauty from the warmth of my comfy home, but Greg was out and about running errands for me, and he said it was pretty awesome. We ended up with about 15 inches of snow in our little town, and some pretty hefty drifts. I guess I had some preconceived ideas of what a blizzard entails, so it wasn't as exciting to me. Anyone remember '78? I was approx. 18-20 months of age, but I have seen some pretty incredible reel to reel coverage of the big event! If I'm not mistaken, there were drifts up to many roofs. I was out on the big drift in the driveway all bundled up - head to toe - with bread bags as snow boots! Hey - we were living on a pretty unimpressive income at the time, and the bread bags served their purpose well!
Anyway, we did have a couple of days off of school last week, and that was fun for the kids, although it did mess up the Spirit Week schedule and push the Valentine's Party off until Friday. We survived well, and the snow is still beautiful and white. We're finally having winter!
