In The Barn...
It seems like our days have been packed full! We have been busy from morning till too late at night, but are *mostly :)* enjoying the ride. Thanks to Doug and Meghan Beck (along with some help from Sarah Seeley) for a delicious dinner a week ago Sunday - we enjoyed being with you guys! Then on Sunday night we were able to visit with friends Glenn and Stephanie Gault and their beautiful daughter Kaitlyn at my parent's house. The Gaults are missionaries to Lesotho, and have such a passion for their ministry! It is encouraging to hear their stories and see the pictures of those whose lives are being transformed.
On Thursday there was prediction of a pretty good-sized snow/ice storm headed our way. Although we didn't get much accumulation of snow, the freezing rain was enough to get us a snow day on Friday...God is good! :) Friday evening was spent finding bargains at the mall and eating at the "pig buffet", Golden Corral. I can't say it's my favorite place...kind of repulsive most of the time, but they have the best pot roast anywhere!
On Saturday we met some of my mom's family in Yellow Springs, OH for a fantastic meal at The Jersey Inn. The fried chicken was out of this world! After eating, we took the kids over to the barn to see the animals. Since they haven't been "down on the farm", they aren't used to watching cows being milked, etc. They loved it, and Evan begged for a calf all the way home.
Thanks to Jason and Renee' Hunsaker for their hospitality and great food on Saturday evening. Greg is still wishing he'd have eaten another piece of pizza! :)
Sunday dinners are most always at mom and dads. Mom has been graciously doing this ever since we moved back to Lima 9.5 years ago. Yesterday's lunch was awesome - as usual! Greg grilled steak and chicken. FYI, the marinades at Aldi's are incredible...let me know if you try them!
I am at the halfway point in my current class, Counseling the Adolescent. It is very enlightening and enjoyable. I am definitely on the countdown!
At school we are counting down the days until our next big event, Regional Student Convention. My students are diligently working on their entries, and we are looking forward to a great time.
Well, now I'm rambling so I guess it's time to move on! Have a great week!
