Happy...Happy...Happy!!!

It was a sleepy Sunday...According to my father (who is a school principal and very used to teachers who love snow days) we are not to count our snowflakes before they fall. Needless to say, they fell and we enjoyed a cozy day in front of the fire, ate a delicious meal, and baked cookies. Now we are on the countdown...mom and dad leave in about an hour to meet Valerie and Adam in Detroit! For some of you, four months away from your sister may not seem like much (yes, I feel for you Heather!), but I am not used to it! We are excited for them to meet Allison, and the other kids are anxiously awaiting their arrival. So, if all goes well, we will be together tomorrow morning. And I don't think there is a snow drift big enough to keep my sis from seeing her new niece!

One Month Today!

Allison is becoming an active member of the household...she gave me her 1st "real" smile today, and is responding to anyone who gives her attention. She is a complete cuddlebug!

Keepin' Busy!

The last couple of weeks have been quite the blur, as those of you with a newborn can surely understand! The Christmas season has been so enjoyable for me, even though I can't do everything like I would prefer. Greg set up the tree just after Thanksgiving, and the kids decorated it. No, Melissa, I have not waited till they have gone to bed and redone the thing (although I plan to shortly!).
The weather here has been a wide array of everything. We have been under some kind of advisory almost every day. Today it is dense fog...wierd.
I have had two dentist appointments since Allison arrived. A couple of weeks prior to her birth I lost part of a tooth on a piece of halloween candy...never eat your kid's halloween candy...it's bad luck. Anyway, I had to wait until she was born to take care of the issue. Fortunately, the dentist was able to remove a really old filling from the tooth and refill it. That was an answer to prayer. I wasn't looking forward to a root canal!
The boys school program was last week. They had lead roles as brothers in the skit family. I knew what the program was about because we started working on it before I had Allison, but I had never actually seen them practice the drama. It was lots of fun to attend a program I didn't have to stress over! The boys learned their parts without any coaching from me, and did a great job.
Our church Christmas dinner was Saturday night, and a great crowd braved the nasty weather to fellowship together. I didn't get any pictures this time...I mostly sat around in an effort to aid the incision healing process.
I suppose this week will bring the wrap-up on Christmas shopping and gift wrapping. Our family Christmas here in Lima is scheduled for the weekend before Christmas, we'll be heading to Cincinnati for Christmas Eve and Day, back home for Wed. and Thurs., then to Michigan for Fri.-Sun. We'll have the 1st and 2nd to recover, then it's back to school on the 3rd. These are the plans IF my doctor gives me the OK next week. I have reason to worry about that!
Well, Kaitlynn has managed to wreck my room while I've downloaded these pictures, so I need to get busy. Hope everyone is having a great week!

I'm Trying!!!

Yes, I'm sitting at home with "plenty of time" (LOL!!) to blog, but my computer isn't wanting to upload pictures. I'll keep trying...stay tuned!
