Thanksgiving Memories...

This year's Thanksgiving vacation was spent with the Yount family in Cincinnati, OH, which has been its "home base" since the late 70's. Grandma Yount lives there, and Craig and Alisa live close to her. Uncle Jerry and Aunt Sarah live just outside of the city, and the rest of us are scattered hither and thither...
I believe that each of the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren make this reunion a high priority. There were 59 of us together this year...a fantastic number...and we spent Wednesday evening through Saturday visiting and making memories. Of course there were some who just couldn't make it...a couple of families living outside of the U.S., one just a month away from having their second child and felt they shouldn't travel...etc.
Thursday's Thanksgiving feast was held at Germantown Pizza. Craig and Alisa generously host this event in the restaurant every year. We certainly appreciate it! Every year, without fail, customers come by for a great Germantown meal, and leave disappointed because they are closed to the public. This year, one especially "needy" looking soul appeared at the door, and Craig welcomed him in, made him a big plate of Thanksgiving dinner, and sent him on his way...I imagine that he left rejoicing :).
Friday morning my cousin Jennifer and I went Black Friday shopping. We weren't out for anything special, so we slept in, and left the hotel at 6:15 a.m. We were able to be out for several hours together, and it was fun to have some girl time!
On Friday afternoon a bunch of the guys went golfing, then we all met at Bananas for a couple of hours of fun on the inflatables. The Bananas rental was sponsored by my mom and Aunt Sarah. :)
Saturday was full of goodbyes...those who stayed the day participated in different activities of their choosing...it was a happy ending to another special gathering.
I didn't get nearly as many photos this year, and am kind of disappointed that we didn't do family shots, etc. this time, but if you're real curious, go back into my posts from last December, and you'll be able to see the same faces. :) Looking forward to next year's Yount reunion!
