Celebrating 8...

Kaitlynn's birthday week was a little chaotic, but she enjoyed it thoroughly...I guess that's what matters.  ;-)
Our family was to be a little scattered during the week, so we started celebrating Monday night by eating at Cracker Barrel with Mamaw and Papaw Nichols.  Eric, Meg, and the kids joined us for cake and ice cream a couple of hours later, and of course, my camera was at home.  She received some nice gifts and some money toward her big gift.
On Thursday (her birthday), we were off of school for Records Day.  I finished my grade cards the night before, so we were able to spend the day having some fun and preparing for our weekend trip.  The weather was unbelievably gorgeous (upper 70's and breezy), so we had lunch at the park.  The kids played for awhile, and then we went home to stick dinner in the oven.  Kaitlynn is a meat lover, and she wanted roast beef, potatoes, and carrots.
After her daddy got home from work, we went to Biggby for some coffee.  Biggby and Kait share a birthday, and every year they celebrate with 99 cent drinks.  That makes a nice "on the cheap" treat for us!
Notice how well her teeth are correcting...praise the Lord!

She loves flowers and fruit, so I let her pick some of each at the grocery.  She received packages from Cincinnati and Florida, and each of those were met with squeals of happiness!  Aunt Valerie sent a cupcake making kit, so Kait and Alli finished the evening baking and icing a batch of mini cupcakes.

Excuse the swimsuit...you never know what
a four-year-old will choose to wear around the
house, and her philosophy was that it's plenty
warm enough to go swimming!   :-)

Looks like a fun birthday to me! I was chuckling at Alison's swimsuit attire. Halie comes up with some very interesting and very colorful outfits to wear when we're just hanging out at home. : )

Allison made me laugh, too. It is so funny what kids will do sometimes. NO FAIR that I couldn't be there for Biggby. ;)
