Just a note to say congratulations to Jeremy and Andrea (Hooker) Witmer on the birth of their 3rd son, Isaiah William, Wednesday evening! His middle name is honoring his uncle, Jason William Yount, and Papa, Jerome William Casey. Isaiah joins Jeremiah and Elijah at their home in Mifflinburg, PA. I, for one, can't wait to see the new little guy, and plan on making a trip out there in March. Andrea and I were more like sisters as kids (we even had good fights), and have fun being together. As far as we know, there are at least 5 more Yount babies to be born this year, with Uncle Jeff and Aunt Andrea taking home the trophy for most grandchildren born within a three month period. I think Uncle Jeff just wants his own genetically linked paint crew! Christmas should be a blast!!! By the way, if any of you Yount cousins have baby news that you are holding out on us, please let us know so I can add you to the stats. :)

Finally...Starbucks in LIMA!!!

As published in yesterday's edition of the Lima News, Barnes and Noble will open a new bookstore on the campus of the University of Northwest Ohio. I'm not really interested in the books, but the store is opening its own Starbucks (okay, I realize most of you already have Barnes and Noble w/Starbucks, but this is big news for us!). March 1st is completion date. I understand that with my newly formed boycott of restaurants (did I spell that right, Greg?), I may not be able to frequent the place, but you never know...giftcards, anyone? :) Just kidding. Maybe I'll be able to con my husband into buying me one of those "ridiculous $5 cups of coffee". Actually, I only like their iced drinks. I can brew the hot stuff in my kitchen for a whole lot less, and use as much flavor as I desire. But the Java Chip Iced Mocha...that's a whole different story!

Hallelujah! We were favored with another snow day today. Yesterday the snow fell for at least 12 hours. On top of the slick stuff, it becomes pretty hazardous. So, we were able to sleep in today. Can't beat it!

Last Sunday was the 30th anniversary of my family's journey as pastor of the Lima Pilgrim Holiness Church. I, of course, was not there because I, of course, was still sick. :( Pictured are: Lynette (Patterson) Spencer, U.B. Crites, Esther (Zeits) Bailey, and my parents, Rev. and Mrs. Don and Ruth (Yount) Nichols. These three pictured with my parents were part of the congregation when we came to town. Esther Bailey babysat me a couple hours a day while my mom was in nursing school. I was four, and she taught me phonics during those sessions of babysitting. My dad was quite surprised when I started sounding out words before kindergarten! Thanks, Sis. Bailey, for your investment in my life.
I feel very privileged to have been a PK who didn't have to move around every few years. The stability my parents and this church gave me is a gift I will treasure forever. Mom and Dad taught me not to "cut and run" whenever things became tough. That was a valuable lesson!

Another Sunday...At Home :(

Surprise, surprise. Sickness keeps us home another Sunday. Kaitlynn and I were able to get antibiotics from the pediatrician who came by the house last evening. Hopefully, we will be through this soon! I miss church and my church family. We have a great group of people with which to worship, and I love them very much. God has blessed us greatly!

We are on our last day of "officially" caring for grandma. Yesterday, Greg and I had an errand to run, and we both had to go. Evan informed me that he would stay and take care of grandma. After giving him instructions (no microwave, no stove, no answering the door, etc.) we left for a little over an hour. Before we were out the door, he grabbed a kitchen towel and started cleaning the counters. He was determined to be responsible and efficient, and he was successful!
It is so much fun to watch the kids learn to help. A few minutes ago, Kaitlynn was learning to fold napkins and place them under the forks at the table. She was getting frustrated because the fold would come undone when she picked up the napkin, but we finished the task in a relatively short amount of time. Let me take this chance to say thanks to Ryan and Evan for folding laundry, cleaning snow off of the sidewalk, emptying multiple garbage cans, straightening the basement, and a host of other chores I asked them to complete this week. They were such a huge help! Most of all, Greg was an unbelievable help. He always is, really. I have never seen a man who could multitask household chores and everything else the way he does! I love you, Greg!!!
