Of all thing things I've ever done, the most rewarding is teaching someone to read. Early in my teaching career I said I would never teach kindergarten because if you make one mistake, a child could be affected for life. Since then I have taught four years in the learning to read program. It was a special gift to be able to teach Evan and our friend Hannah how to read this year. Yesterday we finished our last PACE in the kindergarten program. After we review and take the Post Test, it will be on to first grade for them. It doesn't seem possible!

Yeah for you! Kindergarten would've been the last grade I wanted to teach, too. It would scare me to death that I make them hate school for the next 12 years! :D Sounds like you're doing a great job!
Are you going to keep teaching once you finish your M.A.?
Probably so, Carrie. It depends on the needs. If God releases me to do other things, then I may. I would really like to become a registered nurse after the M.A. There are a lot of variables, but we'll just take it one day/year at a time.
